Here they are, with my apologies to any and all lovers of fish sticks. You know who you are.
If you wanted a universe, I’d go to the hardware store and buy all the stuff I needed to make you one.
What is true of money is also true for love. When you must work hard for either, they mean oceans more. Though acquiring love requires far more challenging work, love brings rewards that no one can take from you, never diminish in value, and you don’t have to decipher any mysterious, complex statements to figure them out.
Having lots of money is fortunate only if you’re humble enough to share it without attaching strings. Having lots of love is always humbling because you can’t help giving it away. The strings just aren’t there.
Money can take you far, get you a bigger house, vacations in fancy spots, a fast and luxurious car. Love just gets you a room in hearts wherever you are.
Of course building love takes work. Sometimes you can’t see how many bricks you’ve laid, or where the windows go, or which way the doors should open. That’s why it’s always a partnership. You can’t do it alone.
Don’t go fishing for love. You could wind up with fish sticks.
…let me be your ocean
