This is my favorite page thus far from “An Actor’s Companion”, written by Seth Barrish. He’s the man behind the Barrow Group in Manhattan, where I’ll take acting instruction in July and August.
Every one of us is an actor. And every one of us will have many directors in our life. Many of them will give us adjustments. They may be our lovers, our coworkers, strangers on a plane, other drivers on the road, even dear friends.
When we’re served with those adjustments, it may sometimes serve us well to remember those four words at the top of the page.
